Your details, handled with care.

The Royal Cove is run by THE RC COMMUNITY LIMITED (company number 17477516). This page explains, in plain English, what we do with the details you give us.

Newsletter sign-ups

  • What we keep: your email address, the wording of the box you ticked and its version, when you signed up and where on the site you signed up (for example the holding page or footer).
  • Why: only to send you cruise tips, inspiration and news from The Royal Cove. Signing up does not pass your details to travel agents or anyone else for marketing.
  • What we don’t keep: we don’t store your IP address or browser details with your sign-up. To stop spam, we use short-lived pseudonymous identifiers that change every hour and are deleted within about two hours.
  • Unsubscribing: when you sign up, we show you a private unsubscribe link. Open it and press “Unsubscribe me”, and you’re off the list straight away. We only keep a scrambled version of that link, so we can’t recreate it for you. Lost yours? Write to us at 66 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NA and we’ll remove you. Our newsletter isn’t being sent yet.

Cruise enquiries, agent sign-ups and discussions

  • Cruise enquiries: we keep your trip preferences, name, email, phone number (if you give it) and the box you ticked, so we can pass your enquiry to one independent UK travel agent who will contact you about that trip.
  • Agent sign-ups: we keep your name, company, email, ABTA or ATOL number and message, only to talk to you about our agent programme.
  • Discussions in The Cove: we keep the name, title and message you post. Our team reads each one first, and approved discussions are shown publicly with your name.
  • Who sees it: only The Royal Cove team, plus the one agent your enquiry is passed to. We use the same hourly spam protection described above.
  • Deleting your details: write to us at 66 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NA and we’ll remove them.

To help the site remember whether you have already seen our sign-up box, your browser stores a few simple on/off flags. They never contain your email address.
